Hospital: Scalise in critical condition after surgery

Rep. Steve Scalise (R-La.) was said to be in "critical condition" Wednesday afternoon after emergency surgery following a shooting at a congressional baseball practice earlier in the day.
MedStar Washington Hospital Center, where the House majority whip is being treated, offered the update in a message posted to Twitter. Scalise's office had said that he was undergoing surgery after being shot in the hip.

  1. He and another WERE in stable condition. Now both are in
critical condition. They were sent to the same hospital
    as Seth Rich was sent.

I wondered why you would be in critical condition after being shot in the hip. No, they say he needs another operation.
